This brand started from a simple problem that I was trying to solve for myself - unruly, frizzy hair.

I’ve been there with the bad hair days too... Thankfully, those are long gone (because, yep, I use our products!) I’m passionate about what we do here at MEDUSA - creating products that actually work and give you real results!

THE STORY...

Denzil here again. Where was I... Oh Yes! My passion for hair began young, around 12 years old, after trying my uncle’s Brylcreem (think John Travolta in Grease) I became obsessed. Experimenting with every style, product, and colour. Even a tragic bleach job that left me with a crispy, yellow disaster!  Over the years, I earned a reputation as the “Go-To Hair Guy” for friends, but I struggled with my own stubborn, dry, unruly curls, dreaming of smooth, sleek locks.

 

In 2010, my barber offered me a complimentary Brazilian Keratin Treatment, transforming my dry, frizzy hair from a cheap wig look-alike into smooth, glossy locks for months!

I was hooked! Absolutely addicted! The catch?  It was only available at a few, very pricey salons... 

Determined to feed my addiction, I ordered my own stash from Brazil, and soon, friends and family were lining up to try it too!

 

 

Around this time, I was retrenched from my 9-5 and a lightbulb moment hit! Seeing a gap in the market, I started selling DIY Brazilian Kits and even offered a mobile treatment service for a while! The response was overwhelming, and so, MEDUSA was born.

 

 Over the years, our product range has increased and today, we're excited to develop even more to keep those good hair days rolling!

 

We are proud to have been the pioneers of Brazilian DIY kits in South Africa, bringing salon-quality hair care into homes and making it accessible to everyone, without the hefty price tag! 

 

What started as a personal obsession quickly grew into a mission: To help others look and feel great. Because we believe everyone deserves a great hair day, every darn day!
